A number of papers were given at the “Papua: Then and Now” Conference held in Sydney, Australia, at the University of Sydney, July, 2002. The participants were drawn from amongst former students, teachers, professors, librarians, archivists, journalists and administrators who played important roles in the formation of PNG literature during the decolonizing period from the mid 1960s to the mid 1980s.
